ID Center

What is an i-card?

An i-card is your student's official ID for the university. The i-card will give your student access to the following services:

  • Meal plans
  • Library services
  • Campus Recreation
  • Door access
  • McKinley Health Center
  • Local bus service
  • Illini Cash campus debit
  • Discounts
  • Student banking (optional)

Handling their i-card

  • A student’s first i-card is free
    • Replacements cost $20
  • It’s University property: do not punch, mark, sticker, or alter it
  • Use only your i-card
  • Report lost cards immediately

Getting an i-card

  • All IDs are issued at the ID Center, located inside the Illini Union Bookstore.
  • New students may provide their photo online for their first i-card – subject to approval and time for processing. Visit go.uillinois.edu/MyPhotoSubmit.
  • Students must present a government-issued photo ID. Visit go.Illinois.edu/ProofsOfIdentity.
