About Me

I joined the Illini Family in June of 2018. In our office it is an all hands on deck approach, but I primarily work with our Illini Transfer Ambassadors, Transfer Student Orientation, the RISE program, and assist with Welcome Days and International Student Orientation. In my spare time, you can find me running, cooking, relaxing in a coffee shop, watching The West Wing (again), or spending time with friends and family.

Advice to an incoming student

"Don’t miss out on something great, just because it is hard." Transitioning into college life and becoming part of a new community can be hard and nerve wracking, but ultimately, your time here can provide you with great friendships, growth, and opportunities to explore your passions. If you are unsure about anything, ask questions. Seek out campus resources. We are always here to help!

About Me

I joined the New Student & Family Experiences team in the Office Support Specialist role in March of 2022. My responsibilities include supporting my team and helping new students locate any information they need as they transition to their new lives as part of the University of Illinois community. I am currently pursuing an Education Doctorate in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership here at UIUC. When I’m not studying or working, you can find me gardening, enjoying time with my family and pets, and cooking while listening (and singing along) to some good music!

Advice to an incoming student

"Open and read the emails inviting you to be a part to campus activities, committees, etc. (both virtual and in-person!)." Establishing a link to campus has been important to my success as a student. Making connections with people that are sharing some of your experiences can broaden your horizons and help you get the support you need to reach your dreams. I have enjoyed being part of committees for campus events, even as an online student. You do not have to physically be on campus to make connections! Using technology and many of the resources provided by the university has allowed me to maintain my current relationships while nurturing new relationships-allowing me to feel connected to both my past and my future.
